Know the device’s buyback value from the moment of purchase

With Forward Trade-in, Recommerce enables its partners (telecom operators, retailers, company, etc.) to offer their customers a new way to access the latest technologies (smartphones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches…) while preserving their purchasing power. 

What does “Forward trade-in” mean in practice? For example, when a consumer buys a brand-new smartphone from a telecom operator, they are offered, at the time of purchase, an option that guarantees the device will be bought back by Recommerce at a predefined price, when they choose to return it. This buyback price will vary depending on the moment the customer decides to “return” the device. 

This model helps customers reduce their monthly payments, plan for future upgrades, and secure the second life of their device, at a predefined price. 

Putting more refurbished devices back into circulation 

This forward trade-in model also brings a tangible environmental benefit: every device collected by Recommerce will be refurbished and reintroduced into the market, contributing to a local circular economy and helping reduce electronic waste.

Unlike traditional purchases, which often result in unused devices being forgotten in drawers, this trade-in model increases the number of devices collected, expanding the refurbished market and extending products lifespans.
