The "Rebox" program
Digital technology currently accounts for nearly 4% of global GHG emissions and could account for more than 7% in 2040 (+60%). The manufacturing of devices is the most polluting stage of the process, accounting for up to 92% of the total footprint.
However, too many devices remain unused. Nearly 50 million phones are still lying unused in our drawers.
Today, they can be put to good use!
The Solidarity and Responsible Collection program aims to collect old, unused devices so they can be refurbished or recycled. By extending their lifespan, we reduce the impact of their manufacturing. If this is not possible, recycling allows rare raw materials to be recovered and avoids further extraction.
This collection is made possible through a partnership with french retailers Boulanger and Electro Dépôt, who have set up collection points in 300 stores with the support of the eco-organization Ecologic, which oversees the repair, reuse, and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) nationwide.
How does it work?

Phone drop-off
Customers are encouraged to drop off their devices at designated collection points, after removing all accessories (phone cases, headphones, etc.) and, if possible, the SIM card.

Data deletion
Upon receipt, if the device is reusable, all personal data is removed using ADISA-certified processes.

Refurbishment
Functional devices are then refurbished and resold in partnership with social and solidarity economy organizations.

Recycling
Devices that cannot be reused are sent to an approved recycling facility to prevent pollution and the extraction of new raw materials.

What if the phone cannot be repaired and refurbished? We make the most of the raw materials in each phone!
In fact, each phone contains more than 70 metals. Some of these materials are recovered through physical and chemical recycling processes.
Thanks to our WEEE recycling partner cycling located in Normandy, France, we ensure the end of life of these products.
